After the shadowing day, I have learned that why the school can be so confident to let their senior student to handle every procedure. First of all, the students are well trained. Every student have to be a full-time student. After one month lectures, they start to practice at laboratory. When they have more confidence, they start working at clinical. Once they learn anything new, they practice over again, and go to have a hand on experience. I saw a student only enrolled the school about 4 month. However, they do what exactly I did when I was a intern. The best way to learn an new task is -- practicing, practicing, and practicing.

Next, the lecture class and clinical practicing are so tight that makes everyone have no chance to have another jobs for living, that's what everyone there told me. However, the price they paid made them gain the other profits. First, the total time that program takes in this school is shorter than other schools; it's only 18 months and other schools usually take 24 months. Second, they have the most well training in these program. After they pass the test, students are in charge the process. If they have question, they may ask the tech supervisor, rest of part they do everything during the skeleton x-ray. They can learn the first hand experiences.

Third, the hospital is the biggest hospital in Maryland, and the public security is not that well than other place. That means, you have plenty opportunities to see the different cases, more than other small hospital and safer places. Although you might be shoot on the way you go to work or go shopping, it can be count as another advantage.

Finally, every student would be rotated in 5 departments in 4 hospitals. That means that they well have a lot of experiences to approach different equipment. No matter which hospital they would apply, the student there can easily adapt machines and environments. Of course, an other benefit, there are more chances for job applicants who rotated in the hospitals while they were students. It's not a major one but it's still notable.

After visiting the hospital, I think I love this program more. If I had had a chance to visit the hospital I studied, would I still want to study there?
